About Us

Since 1996, the Women’s Clinic has provided comprehensive health services for women of all ages. We take pride in our professional staff and the compassionate care that they provide. Our doctors are Dr. Merle J. “Boo” Hodges, Dr. Christopher R. Graber, and Boo's father, Dr. Merle A. Hodges.


Dr. Merle J. “Boo” Hodges
A Salinan since 1966, Dr. Boo graduated from Salina Central High School in 1976 where he was an all-league left tackle on the football team. He received a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Kansas in 1979 and his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1983. Upon completion of his Ob/Gyn residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri in 1987, Dr. Boo joined his father’s practice in Salina. He is a board-certified fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and also serves on the State Board of Healing Arts.


Dr. Christopher R. Graber
Originally from Newton, Kansas, Dr. Christopher Graber graduated from Newton High School in 1996. He attended Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas for his undergraduate education, graduating in 2001. A graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, Dr. Graber completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Graber Joined the Women’s Clinic in August of 2009.


Dr. Leslie Ablard
Dr. Ablard is the newest addition to our staff. She graduated valedictorian from Neodesha High School in 1998 and cum laude from Kansas State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition. After graduating in 2006 from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, she completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas in June 2010. During residency, Dr. Ablard received several awards, including the Pritchard Prize for resident research at the Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologist state annual meeting, Outstanding Resident in Medical Education, and Special Resident in Minimally Invasive Gynecology for excellence in laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Merle A. Hodges
Dr. Merle was born and raised in Lawrence, Kansas. He played football for the University of Kansas, graduating in 1954. He graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School and served as a physician at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, Alabama. After completing his Ob/Gyn residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City in 1966, Dr. Merle moved to Salina to establish his practice with Dr. Norman Harris. He has served as coordinator for the Kansas Medical Society’s Impaired Physician Program and served two terms as a Salina City Commissioner and mayor.


Marcia

Marcia, Kim, and Beth are our nurses and can help you with prescription refills, scheduling tests or surgeries at the hospital, answering questions, and scheduling diet appointments and 3-D sonograms.


Alyssa and KyAnn (not pictured) are our receptionists and will help you schedule your appointment.

Karen and Jennifer handle all the financial aspects of your care. They can help you with any questions you may have regarding insurance or payments.

Karla and Julie are our medical assistants. They check your weight and blood pressure, take you back to the exam room, and draw blood for texts.
